Autumn-inspired prints

The weather has turned Autumnal! Inspired by the change of season, we teamed up with calligrapher Laura from 'Laura Letters Life' to create some gorgeous stationery.

We decided to reflect the idea of colours changing throughout Autumn, by using multiple paint colours on each block. In the examples below, each time a block is pressed down, three colours need to be applied with a small sponge stick. As the design involves multiple blocks, there is a visual complexity to the finished piece. This comes from the colours, motif arrangement and the rotation of the blocks themselves. A more naturalistic effect is achieved by rotation than if the leaves were all pointing in the same direction.

The second set of experiments was to create some greetings cards, using different types of calligraphy arrangements within or around the blocks. Try different pen colours to see what works for you!
