Explore Shin Bijutsukai magazine

Our new Japonisme pattern collection is partly influenced by an early 20^th century Japanese pattern book.  Between 1901-02, Japanese pattern design was published in Shin Bijutsukai, the New Monthly Magazine of Various Designs by the Famous Artists of Today. This is now in the public domain and can be viewed here. Some of the most common motifs are leaves, water, flowers, bamboo, and clouds.
